Over the past 15+ years, Craig has acquired extensive experience in leveraging state-of-the-art AI and ML technologies to execute comprehensive builds and optimizations of business platforms/systems, with a focus on maximizing value for partners and consumers across the customer lifecycle.
From 2016 to 2020, he was Vice President - Information Technology for Berkley One, a recent startup company of the W. R. Berkley Corporation (W. R. Berkley) which specializes in high-revenue policyholders. He joined W. R. Berkley in 2013 as CIO for two of the company’s niche operating units. In late 2014, Lowenthal became a Segment Director for Berkley Technology Services (BTS), the technology arm for W. R. Berkley.
Prior to joining W. R. Berkley, Lowenthal was an independent small business owner operating a franchise restaurant and overseeing all daily business-critical functions from human resources (HR) and finance to customer service, quality control and facility operations.
During this time, he also maintained a foothold in the insurance industry through strategic consulting and limited employment engagements for various carrier and vendor companies.
Lowenthal is not only a strategic thinker adept at problem-solving and executing tactical plans to achieve corporate objectives, but a technology professional with nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has been instrumental in creating the technology department and developing the technology vision for multiple start-up organizations, has led the effort to reestablish an organization’s business after the offices at 7 World Trade Center were lost on September 11, 2001, and has held various management positions with responsibility for e-business, electronic messaging, collaborative development, marketing/advertising systems, human resources/payroll systems, reporting and decision support systems, financial business systems, reinsurance business systems and international systems.
He is a past president of the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA) and is a member of the AICPA and the NY State Society of CPA’s (NYSSCPA). He holds a BS in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, and is a CPA licensed in New York.

ITA Mission Statement
The goal of the Insurance Technology Association is to provide members with opportunities to collaborate, educate, network, share, and use knowledge related to insurance technology. The ITA serves the insurance technology community as a resource and is dedicated to serving this specialized sector of the industry. Publications and educational programs created by the ITA are geared to professionals interested in or charged with evaluating, implementing, and marketing insurance-specific technology systems or services.
